Video 1: Discrimination Explained for Kids

I like this video because there are many images that correspond to the words that the presenter is saying. I like that rather than using a person to be discriminated against, they are using a balloon. The facial expressions that the balloon ha are helpful for students to understand. Also, the examples that are presented are very relatable. It brings the word “discrimination” to a more simplistic form. There are motivating messages and questions to wonder while looking at the video. I wish that the awareness of discrimination be shared within all elementary school classrooms. It is very important concept to learn and I feel if more students understand what discrimination means would limit the amount of bullying that occurs with young students. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uXgJA-VfjI

Video 2: Princess Penny and the Pea

I like this story because I have seen many stories about students with students with disabilities. This video frustrated me because there were so many things that Penny was unable to do because she was supposed to “act” like a princess. She was judged before she ever got a chance to play like everyone else. I also like that through all the hardship the pea was going through, she persevered and did not want to be treated any differently than anyone else. I wish this idea to be known in any class I teach.
