My goal is to work with children inspiring them and encouraging them to reach their full potential and grow each and every day to become well rounded individuals of the future and discover the world around them!
Biography:
I am a graduate of the Masters of Teaching and Bachelor of Education program at OISE. I am also a Registered Early Childhood Educator.
Currently, I am an Occasional Teacher and completed two successful long term assignments teaching Grade 6 & 7.
I have learned how to make developmentally and age appropriate lesson plans to plan activities for the children. During my four years at the University of Guelph- Humber I have been exposed to different types of settings involving children including; a Montessori school, a Full Day Kindergarten classroom, an Infant and Toddler classroom and Early Intervention Services. Every experience I have had whether positive or negative has assisted me towards the type of Educator that I would like to become.
My upbringing has provided me with valuable skills that I can use in my every day life. When I was younger, I travelled to Italy every summer for about 6 weeks where my brothers and I would attend summer camp for half day. It was an amazing experience that allowed me to practise speaking and writing Italian so I was confident speaking with the other children and the counsellors.
By learning a second language, it helped me to communicate with others and build more diverse experiences. Also I was always involved in sports when I was younger, so promoting a healthy lifestyle and keeping active is a strong passion of mine and so I strive to create opportunities to share my passion with children that I come in contact with.
Apart from working with children I volunteered at Etobicoke General Hospital in the front information desk directing patients to their appropriate location; escorting patients to the front after a procedure and assisting with registration. This experience allowed me to interact with those of all ages and learn from their experiences to become a more well rounded individual.
